#WhyILoveSaruni COMPETITION 2016

THE WAIT IS OVER: It hasn’t been easy, but we finally selected our 2016 #WhyILoveSaruni Winners from the monthly shortlisted entries. Every year, the judging gets harder: this year with creative videos to choose from in addition to incredible moments captured in a single shot. We all had our clear favourites but some Entrants went above and beyond to tell us why they love Saruni!

RUNNER-UP, Will Axtell - with a brilliant 360° holistic response to ‘WhyILoveSaruni’ video & photo compilation, winning an all-inclusive 1 night stay for 2 people at any Saruni property, valued at almost $1,500.

PHOTO COMPETITION JUDGES

36596155

Stevie Mann of Stevie Mann Photography

Stevie is quite simply one of the most talented photographers around today. He is responsible for many of the dreamy, evocative images you see on the Saruni websites, having snapped our lodges, surroundings, culture and people for some years now. Able to capture the essence of Saruni in photos, Stevie is a natural choice of #WhyILoveSaruni judge.

Pietro Luraschi of Asilia

Pietro is a natural instructor and after achieving the highest guiding qualifications in Kenya, he turned to training guides and rangers in addition to his own high profile safaris. A long-time friend of Saruni, and a keen photographer, he is known in East Africa for his very fluent kiswahili. What a great #WhyILoveSaruni judge.

Dirk Rees - Dirk Rees Photographer & Director

Since his first visit to Saruni Samburu some years ago now, Dirk has been an avid supporter of both Saruni and the communities in which we are located. His passion for capturing on film and in images the movement and dance of global tribes has been published in wonderful coffee table books worldwide. We are thrilled he is a #WhyILoveSaruni competition judge.
